Low yields in 2015 resulted in beautifully concentrated and complex wines. Our Estate Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect example, with its layered aromas of peach, apricot, pear, and key lime pie. It has a creamy texture with rich fruit flavors of melon and pineapple, all of which are balanced by fresh acidity and flinty minerality.

Despite low rainfall, excellent growing conditions occurred in 2013 yielding one of the finest Salvestin Estate Cabernets in recent years. The nose shows layered aromas of black-berry preserves, cassis, and barrel spices. On the palate a rich texture and tremendous depth of ripe dark fruit flavors are unveiled. Tannins are apparent yet integrated and build, to frame a finish that is long and ripe. While this is a powerful Cabernet it maintains traditional Salvestrin elegance and polish.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from the estate vineyards and is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. This showed well. It's a 2013, but the blend, which was aged 22 months in French, American and Hungarian oak, is lusty, savory, hedonistic, rich and mouth-filling, with a dense purple color and not a hard edge in sight. This blockbuster fruit bomb has complexity, richness and a savory intensity that has to be tasted to be believed. Kudos to the winery. Drink now through 2030+.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 3D from the Dr. Crane Vineyard is a beauty. Notes of wet pebbles, crème de cassis, blackberry and earth jump from the glass of this cuvée that represents 350 cases. 2014 was one of the earliest harvests on record in Napa Valley due to consecutive warm dry growing seasons. For our Estate Sangiovese this abundant California sunshine generated a wine true to its Italian roots. It exhibits classic aromas of ripe red fruits, including strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry. The palate is defined by its soft entry, fine tannin structure, and fresh acidity; hallmarks of the food friendly nature Sangiovese fans know and love.

The beautiful ruby color leads to floral notes that are vibrantly reminiscent of rose petals. On the palate, a soft silky smooth entry shows ripe red and dark fruit. The fruit hangs on through the well-integrated tannin and lingers
delightfully along with hints of barrel spice. This is exactly the type of wine my grandparents loved to share with family and friends.
