Here, home and vineyard are one, and every choice we make reflects our commitment to both

Back then

The vineyard wasn’t just a backdrop to our lives—it was the stage. Spring, circa 1974, I was ten, indulging my boyish proclivity for bug excavation in the shade of my grandfather’s shadow. Beneath a pomegranate tree, my Nonno called me over to spot ladybugs nestled among the leaves. “I piccoli soldati”—“the little soldiers”—of the vineyard, he said, explaining in his broken English how the fruit trees—pomegranates, peaches, persimmons—did more than evoke memories of his pre-war homeland of Cavaso del Tomba. They were his way of keeping two places alive: the memory of the home he’d left behind and the one buzzing to life before me. The vineyard is alive, the realization quietly taking root in my imagination.

And now

Some decades later, those same fruit trees greet each passing guest, a living testament to my grandparents’ vision. That same ethos guides us today. Farming this land, where both our grapes and our family grow, is a balancing act—honoring the past while reaching toward the future, embracing tradition and novelty all the same.

From conserving water and limiting power usage in the winery to improving soil health and fostering biodiversity in the vineyard, we’ve embraced more than 120 sustainability practices that protect our waterways, enrich our soil, and allow us to cultivate a product—and a life—free of synthetic chemicals.

Our Commitment

Protecting wildlife lies at the core of our efforts. Since earning our Fish Friendly Farming certification in 2010, we’ve relied on natural composting and cover crops to enrich our vineyard site and safeguard local habitats.

Thoughtful soil cultivation each Spring ensures vine balance, minimizes runoff, and preserves precious resources. Certified California Organic since 2021, we continue to champion the regenerative farming movement, crafting wines that honor Mother Nature and our Napa Valley community.
